Cosmetic acupuncture is a specalised form of acupuncture used to revitalise the complexion. Eye bags, sagging skin It can target those fine lines, sagging skin and a lacklustre complexion. When it’s used in combination with body acupuncture, eye bags and facial congestion can be eased.
For facial problems such as acne, eczema or Bell’s palsy please book a standard acupuncture treatment as it does not need cosmetic acupuncture.
What is cosmetic acupuncture
This is a specialised form of acupuncture where the emphasis in treatment is to get a good improvement in how you look. It still is an acupuncture treatment, so your first session includes a full traditional Chinese medicine diagnosis and well as acupuncture points and facial techniques to find out what suits your skin. The aim is to reduce the appearance of fine lines, making deeper lines look softer. It is ideal for skins that a dry or lacking skin tone and can address dark circles, puffy eyes, creased skin, and a dull complexion.
A facial treatment that includes acupuncture
First, we’ll discuss which areas of your face concern you. It could brow lines, creases around the edges of the mouth, saggy skin under your chin or puffiness around your eyes. There is a large choice of techniques that can be used to work on problem areas in different parts of your face. We will also talk about your general health, like poor sleep, worry or dry skin which can also affect your complexion. Acupuncture will be aimed at those issues areas as well.
Acupuncture, acupressure, facial massage and various other techniques are combined to stimulate the acupuncture meridians and improve the flow of Qi energy in the face. The aim is to nourish, hydrate and tone the skin, diminishing the appearance of fine lines and improve skin tone.
A course of treatment is required. Treatments will start once a week for 6 to 8 appointments, then a maintenance treatment every 4 weeks is advised.
Unfortunately, due to COVID restrictions, I am unable to offer any facial treatments at the moment.
