Fertility and IVF Acupuncture treatment for fertility can start long before any conventional medical treatment is embarked upon. If a woman is having trouble conceiving after several months of trying, then that is a good time to start a course of acupuncture. Initial treatments are aimed at establishing and maintaining a good menstrual cycle. A woman's cycle should be regular, pain free, without any clots or flooding, and lasts for around five days. Acupuncture is gaining recognition for its help during IVF treatments and many IVF consultants now recommend a course of acupuncture to improve the success rate of treatment.
