Facial Acupuncture

Facial acupuncture is gaining popularity and media attention as an effective, non-surgical treatment to reduce the signs of aging. It is nothing new as is it was a great favourite of Chinese Emperors to keep them looking young.

Treatment combines body acupuncture with a variety of different treatments applied direct to the face. By working holistically, the treatment is effective for the physical appearance of the face as well as any underlying imbalances which influence your complexion.

In a treatment, body acupuncture is used to stimulate acupuncture meridians and improve the flow of Qi (energy). This encourages Qi-energy to be circulated to the face, nourishing, hydrating, toning and diminishing the appearance of wrinkles.

The face is treated with a variety of techniques, these can include acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, facial massage and various other techniques. Treatment is targeted at fine lines as well as making deeper lines look softer. It can also help to minimize dark circles, puffy eyes, creased skin, and a dull complexion.

Each course of treatment is tailored for the individually but will usually start with one session a week, for 6 to 10 weeks. Each treatment will build on the effect of the last and visible results will be noticeable after 6 -7 sessions. Afterwards a maintenance treatment may be needed every 4 to 6 weeks.
